MY STORY

Hi there,

I’m Kerstin Fleischer - the creative spark behind LOOM & LORIKEET.

My journey with making began in Germany, where I was lovingly taught by my mother and two gifted grandmothers. Surrounded by yarn, fabric, and generations of skill, I learned to stitch, shape, and create with my hands. I’ve sewn my own clothes, created jewelry, and made that macrame owl.  

Fiber and textiles have always felt like home.

I've lived in Germany, Northern California, and now Brisbane, Australia—each place has inspired me deeply with its unique and beautiful landscapes. That deep connection to nature finds its way into everything I make.

When I’m not busy needle felting or knitting in my home studio, you’ll likely find me wandering the neighborhood, baking a loaf of sourdough, or sipping a creamy latte.
